Yvonne
Help...We are trying to secure a field and we are looking for the rustic fence posts used by all farmers in our area. We need about 200 posts in all so its out of the question to begin to make our own. Does anyone know where it is possible to buy such osts? They are not treated wood, just basic posts with sheep netting? One local farmer suggested a local supplier who has quoted me 2.10€ per post. I can't believe they are so expensive for what is essentially a sharpened branch? I can buy a treated post (which I don't want) for just a few cents more?? I asked at a local sawmill and they don't supply them either. I cant believe that the farmers all make their own??Thanks,Abi
Chris Head
2.10 is about right Abi, they'll be coppiced Sweet Chestnut. The farmers split and point their own posts. If you've got a feindly farmer he might even push them into the ground for you with his tractor bucket, it'll save you a load of time!Chris
