Tony F Dordogne
Well, I've been given a huge basket of slightly under-ripe pomegranates - probably 10 kilos or thereabouts.Apart from eating them raw, making syrup and using the juice to flavour apple jelly, has anybody got any ideas about how to use them?Apparently more to follow in a week or so. Viv
The juice is practically a 'super food 'now , it allegedly slows down prostrate cancer and is good for thinning the blood if you have heart problems. Its very pricey to buy from health shops.I don't have any recipes though . Spongebob
About twenty years ago, I made wine from fresh pomegranates, and it was SUPERB, it retained a slight fizz like a flattish Lambrusco, and was amazing for drinking on a summer evening.I also made rose-petal wine, and that tasted exactly as rose petals smell!Spongebob
Cassis
Never cooked with pomegranates personally, but there seem to be a surprising number of recipes using them on the Web:Pomegranate recipes
