derf
Can someone give me some advice on how to overwinter my Bougainvillea? I am in SW France, south of Bergerac. I don't yet have a greenhouse or anywhere I can put them inside for the winter (waiting for the house to be built). Thanks
Pads
HelloWrap it up in Bubble wrap keep it slightly watered so it do'snt dry out, but this is only for when its really cold , mine is out side in sw england and has survived 2 winters, keep it simple so you can take it off on warm winter days and wrap up again at night. wrap the pot as well as the plant. Suze01
You can get horticultural fleece in either sheets or large 'bags' to put over the plant - this will allow it to breathe as well as protect it from frosts. I use this on my Oleanders. You can get them from garden centres or supermarkets or DIY sheds.
Gardian
Just a thought - find a local nursery to look after it for you. If you're a customer or potential customer, they may well be prepared to help. They're pro's and have the infrastructure. If it's a 'special' plant, could well be worth €30 to you for the peace of mind.
