hinson76
I need to buy one of these on my next visit to France. Can anyone advise on a decent mid priced product and which retail outlet it may be purchased from .I have easy access to , le Clerc, Auchun -jardin, Bricomarche or maybe it is simpler to buy one in the UK? Chris Head
There's a good range available here hinson, buying it locally will save you headaches should they go wrong. As with anything, you get what you pay for, Stihl are excellent. To minimise future carburettor problems, once you've cut the hedge, empty the remaining petrol from the tank and run the engine dry.
Will
We have a Stihl one which is excellent. In fact the local French black market odd job man frequently borrows it if anybody has a biggish hedge cutting job they want him to do.My advice would be to buy locally from a specialist in agricultural machinery (motoculture). You may pay a couple of euros more tthan you would in a grand surface, but you should get decent after sales support, which is pretty much non-existent in the places you mention. hinson76
STIHL and SHINDAIWA start at around £250 in the UK.Any cheaper in France ? The guy at STIHL said you would be wasting your time buying anything cheaper.
