Cat
Thanks again to everyone who kindly made recommendations. I ended up ordering three books (one new and two second-hand) . I've planted out lots of seeds in bio-degradable pots, in a warm place inside the house for now, and some are already starting to sprout. I feel quite ridiculously proud of them, it's easy to see I'm a complete beginner [:)]I plan to plant some more in a few weeks, so that I don't end up with everything needing picking and eating at the same time. All I need now is for my books to arrive, we've a postal strike in the village that's been ongoing for a couple of weeks, and the queues to pick up the mail from the post office are horrendous. Pierre ZFP
Not a book but can I recommend this sitehttp://www.shootgardening.co.uk/index.phpYou can register for free for the basic goodies but even if you don't there's a wealth of info on all sorts of plants including fruit and veg. I look at it to give me quick info about plants that tempt me in garden centres with their hypnotic 'Buy me, buy me'
