Dick Smith
I think they all do - remember your Chaucer - Whan that Aprille, with hise shoures soote, The droghte of March hath perced to the roote And bathed every veyne in swich licour, Of which vertu engendred is the flour; Whan Zephirus eek with his swete breeth Inspired hath in every holt and heeth The tendre croppes, and the yonge sonne Hath in the Ram his halfe cours yronne, And smale foweles maken melodye, That slepen al the nyght with open eye- So priketh hem Nature in hir corages
Tag
I've always been away at this time of year so have missed them. What a treat. As you can see from the timing of this message, I am listening to them late.
SlinkyKitten
Ask a French person and they'd "what birds that sing at night?".I live in the Limousin and have the pleasure of having nightingales in my garden from early april onwards. I started to carry out a survey amongst the locals to see if any of them knew which bird it was (I only wanted to know the French name). I got the same response every time. It just goes to show that the rurals inhabitants must sleep very well!
