CeeJay
I am growing a cherry(Stella) on Gisela5 dwarf rootstock. I planted it last May and is growing quite prolifically and is about 2metres high, however I now have three new branches forming at the top, with no branches underneath. If anyone has grown this rootstock I would like information on what I should do now.
Russethouse
http://www.rhs.org.uk/advice/profiles1006/fruitpots.aspPerhaps the rootstock and the cherry are not a good match, or maybe you should try pot cultivation but I think I would remove the unwanted branches and at the correct time of year 'stop' other branches to encourage side growth but then I have never grown cherries.......
