TefkaC
Hello, has anyone an idea of the cost of running an electric fence for a month, 220volt x 8 watt x 10,000 volt output.. Cheers Charlie.........
cooperlola
I have never worked this out for myself but I don't reckon it can be much (as it's only on a pulse and therefore is not on all the time.) But the calculation ought to be fairly simple if you understand the corralation between a unit of electricity and the figures you quote. Being a bit of a dimbo in these matters, I can only say that at first glance I'd say that you'd use 8/1000ths of a unit an hour - sounds dirt cheap to me so I may well have got this wrong. One thing I do know is that once any animals have got used to the fact that the thing will give them a good zap when they touch it, it's often not necessary to have it switched on all the time, only occasionally to remind them of the possible consequences of touching it! cooperlola
My girls shoot off at a rate of knots if they touch it even when it's off. But I take your point...
