jonquille
We have just retired and moved to a new house near Dinan. The garden is a blank canvas which backs onto a woodland and the soil is slightly acidic. Is there anyone who could offer advice on good garden centres, where to buy compost until we get our own going and whether there are any gardening clubs in the area ( I don't know if these exist in France) Many thanks. Bernice
There are gardening clubs all over France. Here's a website to get you started - http://www.jardiniersdefrance.com/fr/accueil/accueil.aspWatch out for "Vide Jardins" where local people sell surplus plants - I have been to several here in Brittany and they are a good source of cheap plants and useful advice about where to grow them. Look on the notice boards in gardening centres - you can sometimes find details of day courses on subjects such as pruning, rose growing, etc.Bernice
