gosub
I am sure someone will know, I have some (fruits?) from a mature tree that look like giant pears with a pale yellow/green skin, any ideas on what they are or what to do with them?

Cendrillon
Quince / Coigns have a wonderful flavour and are fantastic for making jelly. They are very hard and do take a long time to cook. You can also use them to accompany a meat dish, rather like adding apple sauce. I mix them with apple or japonica fruits and make jelly.

Ian
I was given a jar of quince and mint jelly by a neighbour. Never tasted anything as nice!
Tony F Dordogne
They also can be used to make a wonderful old-fashioned fruit cheese, which keeps well and is brilliant with real cheese.
