Richardk
I'd like to construct a small fence - c. 10 to 15 metres in length using round upright posts and then two horizontal round poles which slot into holes within the upright post. The sort of thing you often see around houses in the mountains if that helps.Does anyone know if the holes in the upright come pre-drilled or not? We're talking quite big holes here, hence not an obvious one to do yourself. Thanks,Richard
Jonzjob
I've never seen the posts pre drilled, but it is not too much to get a 50mm flat plate bit and as long as you have a decient drill, no problems... You could then taper the rails into the posts.
Kitty
If you live in an area prone to termites, concrete posts are preferable (we found this out to our cost).
Phil & Pat
Around here they sell the rails and posts pre-drilled to accept them. The posts can be either pointed or flat at the bottom end.

Callie
Richard K - yes, I have seen exactly the sort of fencing you are talking about. They sell it at Espace Emeraude (see Google) and most of the places that sell outdoor stuff like pre-treated posts, poles, trellis, panelling.
