James2
Hi,We wish to transfer our " Mason Secondaire " to our son by a gift.To transfer the title deeds we need a solicitor, the notaire we approached quoted quite a high estimate for the procedure. Is this a standard cost based on the value of the property?or can I shop around for a better price? mint
AFAIK, notaires have a scale of fees to which they adhere. And it's not all for the notaire; included would be state taxes and land registry charges. Here is a site for checking the fees:notaires.fr
woolybanana
There may be another way that is cheaper: you can transfer the nu propriete of the house whilst retaining the usufruit. Up to 100000 euros per child, keeps the death duties down. Ask the notaire to explain.
