danny
The commune is in the process of installing a security camera on a pole directly in front of our apartment. It is one of those 360 degree cameras. Our apartment and balcony will be in full view of the camera which will be manned on a 24 hour basis. When I contacted the mayors office they just said security.Do we have any rights in terms of privacy or in control of our digital images. Théière
Not my topic Danny but I believe so from the old speed camera days which is why they take photos from the back and not the front. They need permission to take a picture in france. You should see a Notaire I think. At least to get the immediate area overlooking you blocked out as it's an invasion of privacy. Maybe the marie just doesn't trust zee eeenglish?
woolybanana
Maybe a lawyer would be best; you certainly have rights of privacy which may be being breached.I seem to remember that there is a scheme operated by avocats whereby you can get half an hour of so of free advice, which maybe all you need.Isn’t there some sort of service to sort out these disputes which does not involve going to law, maybe run by the prefecture?Edit: Little bird has just come up with this which may be of some usehttps://consultation.avocat.fr/les-avocats-tout-savoir/les-permanences-gratuites-pour-consulter-un-avocat.htmlAnd this , litige avec les administrationshttps://www.service-public.fr/particuliers/vosdroits/F13158

Mikew
Have a look on the CNIL website,http://www.declaration-videosurveillance.com/R-GLEMENTATION.htmlCes caméras ne doivent pas permettre de visualiser l’intérieurdes immeubles d’habitation ni, de façon spécifique, cellesde leurs entrées. Des procédés de masquage irréversible deces zones doivent être mis en oeuvre.and a lot more.
