chirpy
H as anyone used gas burners/lances to get rid of weeds on gravel paths/terraces etc. such as the garden torch 907 made by campingaz.?We have used Round-up and sodium chlorate but these chemicals are not good for the environment as well as being expensive. Grumpy
It takes quite a lot of gas to burn your weeds(depending on size and density) so don't rush in to getting a burner. I have one that I use professionally and prefere to use it on dead weeds that I have killed with Roundup thus tidying up the job. Pathclear is a good product that has a residual element that kills seed as it germinates. Keep an open mind on Roundup. I know a lot of people worry about it but it is still the safest desherbant that we have got.Grumpy
Chrissie
We got a gas burner some time ago and found that, as Grumpy said, it took along time to kill the weeds and therefore you burn a lot of gas (and your arm gets fed up). Gas bottle refills became too expensive to continue, so I use weedkiller now.Chrissie (81)
Mr Coeur de Lion
I never thought of doing that before. Sounds like fun!
