Thebiga
Our Broccoli was growing well and still is, but we are getting lots of holes on the leaves and what seems to be doing it are some tiny black beetles! Does anyone know what these are and how we can get rid of them?Cheers
Richard51
Probably flea beetle. Control with insecticide. Companion planting with sage can help.Mrs R51
Patf
It could be the crucifer flea beetle, which often spreads from oilseed rape. We had a plague of it once.Don't know how to treat it - ask at the gardening shop.
Gardengirl
I also think it's the flea beetle. Oilseed rape nearby often leads to a worse infestation. Planting of radish nearby can attract them and lead to less of an infestation on your broccoli; fleece is another answer. https://www.rhs.org.uk/advicesearch/Profile.aspx?pid=
Thebiga
Thanks everyone i'll give something ago. We did have some bug killer that we have had a while so I gave that a go and they do seem to be less today. Lets see what happens when the sun comes out as they did seem to multiply a bit with the sun so lets see later.
