Angie
We are considering purchasing an Alpina One 98YH Lawn tractor from Castorama - we can't really afford anything more than this. We have two questions; the first being has anyone bought one of these and are they any good, reliable etc.? The second question involves collection/delivery. Castorama will not deliver in our area which means us taking our small van to collect it. Hopefully we can assume they will load the tractor into our van but we are concerned about getting it out at the other end!! Does it come in a box fully assembled? Any advice for us novices would be much appreciated.
Théière
It's much the same as any other ride on of the same design, The hydrostatic gearbox transaxle is made by Peerless/Tecumseh two companies that are now one and produce back axles for almost all ride on mowers on the market. The engine is a Briggs and Stratton as are most mowers the chassis is the same as all the others of this size. The only difference is usually the front axles which on lower cost models are welded formed steel whereas the more expensive use cast iron. So it's not really different to any of the others but maybe cheaper as the sticker name is not common compared to Electrolux/Husqvarna, Westwood, Countax etc. If you don't have ramps buy a couple of pieces of heavy timber to use

dave21478
My mower, which is similar, fits (JUST!) in the back of a Citroen C15, and is easy enough to load single handedly using 2 planks as ramps.
