crossy67
Holy cow, or should that be pig? What a mess. You would be the most popular person in the village if you called round the local hunters.
woolybanana
Getting the bigger freezer is the obvious solution but they would have to be checked by a vet after slaughtering as they can carry a bug that is nasty to humans

woolybanana
Well my lovely, why is each animal which is shot and taken for sale to the local wholesale market, including Rungis vetted for a particular disease by the French veterinary service then, and many rejected? It is a kind of parasitic worm I think.Noone mentioned AIDS.
Cat
Quite right Wooly. Whilst on the subject, could you jog my memory on the rule of holes. I can't quite remember how it goes, but there is another thread currently running that made me think of it.

pachapapa
Perhaps they get Weil's Disease whilst bathing with ragondins.Either way I wouldn't fancy hitting one on my ride-on mower.
Gardian
This is very topical for me.I went down to my potager earlier today - it's at a lower level to the house, but no more than 20m from our bathroom window. There's soft fruit planted there, or at least there was. It's well dug up, with holes about 50cms deep all over it. The sangliers have definitely been about: we're in an oak wood and they've probably been having a root about for acorns. Those are great pics - they look really happy!![blink]
