sid
Now that summer is here... [:-))] ... has anbody cut their grass yet? Ours is looking VERY untidy and could do with an initial trim at least. Is it too early?
Gardengirl
My neighbour here in SE UK was doing his over the past two days, and there was plenty in his green collection bags, so it must have needed cutting! I suppose I ought to nag my OH to get started! [:D]
Patf
We have 2 mowers - a sit-on and a pushalong petrol. I've been hinting (nagging) that their blades needed sharpening for a couple of weeks now and Eddie did it this week. Then I did some grass cutting on Tuesday, but still a bit to do.Most of our grass is very rough, like field grass, and some of it grows very fast. So there's no risk of harming it with early cutting. sid
That'll do for me! I'll get the blades sharpened and do the first cut in the next few days. Ours is all field grass really, plenty of weed, and loads of molehills just at the moment.
mary
I've cut mine over the last two days, but waited until at least 4pm so the sun dried it out...just in time for the rain tomorrow.

JSKS
After the very cold spell in feb all the grass round here has turned brown - as if a long drought had descended. The green's coming through again but no real growth. Weird.
minnie
OH has done all of ours this last week. We have a ride on and a push for 3 acres. We do find that the ride on needs new blades each spring for keeping the grass neat. He sharpens the blades a few times during the season. When everything is looking unkempt giving the grass a cut makes such a difference to the appearance of the property
Gardengirl
OH is out cutting our lawns now - the forecast for tomorrow is rain, so I've persuaded him to get started this afternoon. Then there's the watering system that needs setting up..............................
