maria (Guest)
Yes we have. We registered at the time of filling in our tax forms. Lower tax is surely enough of a advantage.
Nickandiz
We registered our chambres d'hotes as a micro-entreprise just over a year ago, specifically to be official/legal, have health & pension cover etc - we have 6 rooms, and are in a small village, so are quite high profile. We did it by registering at the Chambre de commerce, having taken advice from our accountant - we are a Centre de Gestion Rurale, where 1 of the guys deals specifically with the tourist side of things - belonging to one of these means you get a reduction in your tax bill, should you have to pay tax (we haven't as yet). The worst thing is that as soon as you register, demands for money arrive - URSSAF, health, all that sort of thing - nothing unexpected, as we'd done a lot of homework first, but painful all the same, and no allowances for being a new business.Advantages - can't say anything specific, other than peace of mind that we are all legal and doing it 'properly'. We are a little unusual in that this is our main business (for many people it's an extra) - there are 3 of us, myself & husband, plus brother-in-law, and we set up 2 x micro-entrprises (his is nominally the table d'hote) to make sure we were all covered.
