maria (Guest)
on the subject of late availability, we had would be 'guests' (I use that term loosely) who telephoned us to request 5 nights accomodation the very next night. They were staying in our village in a gite and intended to stay on a little longer due to house purchase. I suggested would they like a barbeque the night they arrived and they agreed. As it was the beginning of the a very hot week we purchased a fan to keep the bedroom cool. They were only 5 mins walk from us and had to pass our door. But they never turned up! no telephone call, no email, no letter! They are moving nearby and I believe intend to do a gite or b/b. Do I wish them luck? No, I feel like chucking the stale croissants I had bought for them!
Coco
I couldn't agree more!! I spoke too soon on the other thread. Yesterday, we had our first no-shows, and they had booked BOTH our rooms for the three nights around this bank holiday weekend! (Nearly 300 euros worth of business!) I have turned away umpteen people for this weekend, so was absolutely furious. I have the guy's mobile number and was tempted to phone him at 6am and midnight for the next three days to ruin his break wherever else he's gone, but my husband persuaded me that that would just be very childish and stooping to his ignorant level. Fortunately, we have today had another couple turn up and ask for two nights, so the weekend has partly been salvaged!!But in answer to your question - if I saw them I'd definitely let them have it full pelt with the stale croissants, however childish it may seem!!
