Advertising that works

We are looking for the best type of advertising for our B&B, its only a small concern and I need to find out the most cost effective way of advertising. Has anyone got any ideas?

Put yourself in the place of your punters - where would you look ? For that is shirley the place to go.

Who said "50% of my advertising works - if only I knew which 50%" ? Not Twain, Bible or Shakespeare so my next guess would be Goldwyn - someone on LF will know tho.

As it is to be a B&B I take it you will be living there permanently so why not get your new venture listed at your local tourist office.

Hi Rosie
You could put a simple advert up on eBay with plenty of descriptive text.
The first thing you should do is register with eBay and get an understanding of how it all works and what you can do.
A good place to start is the Answer Centre at:
http://pages.ebay.com/community/answercenter/index.html
You will see that there are many different sections for the items that are being auctioned and sold, covering everything from classic Jaguar cars to the latest from Kylie.
For example, if you have a gte then you could place it under the main Tickets & Travel section.
Within this section are sub-categories such as Accommodation, Package Holidays and even Short Breaks - France.
And one of the advantages of eBay is that you can experiment because it will cost just a few Pounds at the maximum to both place and then let your holiday home.
