vivienvivien
Hi I've just spent the last hour reading all the replys from people telling me that running a B/B in the Limousin is not a good idea, we love the area, have about 300,000 euros to spend and a back up pension, we are not of pensionable age yet, speak French, can someone some where give us any hope or should we just stay at home here in England,or is there any other part of France that may be better, or is there too many of us over there already. Hoddy
I have some friends with an excellent chambre d'hote in the southern Dordogne. I've been talking to them this morning. They have no bookings for the last weeks in August so it looks as though this area isn't a good idea either.Hoddy
mascamps.com
If it's anything to go by, about 20% of all the entries on ourinns.org are in the Limousin ie it's looking pretty crowded up there.I'd look for areas that don't have a high brit population already. If you visit a place and the shop assistants speak to you in english, 'tis time to look elsewhere. The other advantage of areas without a high brit population is that the prices are considerably lower. I suspect that your 300k won't go terribly far in the Limousin. Arnold
