Hi

For the past 6-7 weeks we have been receiving inquiries for holidays at the rate of around 4-8 per day. Howvere since 30/3/06 we have received nothing at all. Seems peculiar. Traffic through the site has remained constant  for the period. I have sent requests to ourselves via another email address and everything seems to be working. Has anyone else experienced this sudden fall off requests since  30th March? or do I have a technical problem that is not immeadiately apparent? Be grateful for any feedback on this problem.

Personally, we have for many years had periods where we will get many

enquiries, this may go on for while and then be followed by a period of

slowness, even nil enquiries on certain days.

Saturdays can tend to be quiet on occasion for us. People in offices

definitely use the phones, so that may account for a few more calls in

the week.

We have often looked for reasons why we are getting less enquiries than

at other times, emails for us are certainly more regular but still we

can have days with just a couple or in low season, perhaps none. We also

have a larger percentage of French requests and reservations, as against any other

nationalities and we sometimes put it down simply to the weather, the

time of year and just about anything to be honest.

If there is nothing wrong with your website, then I would think

enquiries should start again soon and when you are full, you will be

wishing they stopped !!  Probably like many others places, the

peak periods have gone and for instance, for a while now this Easter we

have been offering potential guests, the contact numbers etc of other

B&B's in the locality. I would worry if your peaks are still

available within a week or so of those periods. Where are you exactly ?

Now that is a gorgeous house by any standard.

We once had a place in Manosque, and often thought to buy again near Pierrevert, so we know the area quite well.

Although being quite a bit more expense than the normal type of C d H,

I can well see why you are and if you are receiving bookings all the

time, then that cannot be the reason. Slow enquiries are probably just

a blip, the web site took a little time to peruse, the net may just

have been slow whilst I was looking but that was all.

Good luck and if you ever want to swap places, don't hesitate to ask. [;-)]

I hope I won't upset any other gites owners here but yours is the nicest and most tastefully decorated gite I have ever seen and I have put in my favourites so I can show it to my friends and relatives in case the fancy a holiday other than chez nous!

Hi Beryl & Miki

Thank you for your kind words.

Beryl we are a B&B, not a gite, but would be very pleased to receive either your goodself or your friends at Mas Pomona. Where abouts are you?

Miki, how could you move from Manosque to St Malo? At the moment we have 24 degrees, blue sky and a gentle breeze, perfect and hopefullly another 6-7 months of the same ahead of us.

I trust that you both have good seasons and if either of you are in the area a glass or two of rose slips down a treat on a day like today.

Best wishes

Wilko

I agree with the other sentiments and I've told Wilko before.  I

too saved the website so that I can offer it to friends when we have no

room - AND for that miraculous day when hubby offers me a special

weekend OUT !....

Miki, how could you move from Manosque to St Malo?

Oh don't ask !! We wish now that we had managed to hold on to our place there but.......

We didn't move in one jump up here, we bought a place in the Dordogne

first and stayed there from 1995 until 1999. By then the kids were in

to their teenage years and it was like living in the Village des Morts,

nothing happened between late Sept and late April/May and they were

alwaysclimbing the walls ! The elder two kids were living in the UK and

Tina was missing them, so the choice was back to the UK or a compromise

and Brittany was the compromise.

The area here really is beautiful but having had a holiday down south

this month, we both realised just how much one can miss those beautiful

days of azure blue skies, but there you go, we can always holiday in

the sunshine !

How are you affected by the Mistral ? I know our friends and us used to be quite cheesed off with it after a couple of days !

I wish you a great season as well and we will hopefully one day, take

you up on that glass of Rosé one day. We often used to go  to our

local cave in Pierrevert for their Rosé, it was delicious and on a

sunny day, even better !

Hi Wilko - I have also put your beautiful house onto Favourites - in case we ever get to the point of having a holiday in France rather than solely renovating our house in 24!! Ever hopeful that it will happen this year or next... meanwhile I hope you have a good season. J
