Loulou2
We're not actually hiring a car for our guests but anyone who has might be able to help us. My husbands mum is coming to stay - our car is off the road so she wants to hire us one for the week she is here so we can visit local places of interest...she doesn't drive and neither do i. My husband will be the driving but he doesn't own or use a credit card...in the past we've just booked the car on my credit card and put him down as the driver...when i needed a car a few months back the companies now seemed to be insisting it had to be paid for by the named driver on their credit card. Has anyone managed to book and pay for a car hire for someone else...if i could drive this wouldnt be a problem as we could just put my husband as second named driver...but i can't any ideas?Lou
Russethouse
Do all the companies insist on credit cards being used ? If you are resident will they not accept a cheque ? Or is it a case of a credit card being essential so that they can charge more if there is a problem ?Perhaps there are some smaller, local operators that could help.Gayhttp://www.quimperclub.org
