Twinkle
Hi everyoneWe have been renovating a property for the last year into two gites and are finally ready to rent. This all totally new to us and now that time has come to actually do it we can't help but feel a little nervous. We have got our website up and running etc etc. When/if we get our first booking could someone please talk me through the actual proceedure of someone booking and taking a holiday with us. I know that one sends the booking form and rental contract and then waits for the deposit to arrive before the final deal is struck and the holiday is confirmed. Do I then write and confirm everything advise them to take our holiday insurance, maybe send a welcome pack or something when the balance is paid. How much paper work is involved? Does one have to get invoices and statements printed or do you just send a standard letter together with full details to everyone. I know it is common sense, but I was just wondering if I may of missed something. Thanks in anticipation.Ann

Val_2
Hope you have registered locally either with the tourist office or the local mairie as you have a duty to charge tourist tax per night and file an income tax return each financial year even if you don't make a lot of money. I'm afraid I agree with Coco, you sound like you are taking the mickey when the tourist season is almost half over already and you havn't even got the paperwork sorted. If I am wrong I appologise, but there is so much info on this forum and in your area locally you should already know this.
