JJ
Has anybody had a similar problem to me, I have just recived 10 e-mails via my website, all sent at the same time, from different e-mails, all asking to book consecutive weeks form Oct to Dec 2006.A friend thinks they are whats called "Nuisance e-mails", not SPAM as they are not selling anything.I had one a few days ago, replied as if it was a genuine enquiry, but heard nothing.Below is an example of one.You have a booking request from Jerrell Melvin Elliot Eddie Treyton Curtis Johnny myron@yahoo.com George For 1 week(s) starting 2006-12-
Cassis
Not exactly the same but yes, I think everyone gets emails that are just from eejits messing about. I got one where the 'Other information' box from our online form was filled in 'We're all P*ssed at Del's party.'I think that getting 10 at the same time is a bit of a giveaway.I would just add the addresses concerned to my enormous 'Blocked senders' list! Boiling a frog
How about this one/Hello we have been seen your property and are thinking of coming to stay for one or two weeks in September.from 9th Please can you clarify a few things : There would be my husband and myself with our baby daughter. Would we get a low occupancy reduction on our booking?indeed what is your best price as it seems to vary from site to site.what offers are available? How warm is the weather normally in September? We would want our daughter in a separate bedroom but in a cot.is there enough room.Would a baby listener work in the property. We are vegetarian and our baby daughter is allergic to eggs where could you recommend we eat?How long would it take for us to drive from the nearest ferry port? How far are the nearest shops/restaurants/Towns?how many share the pool?Could you provide ,cot high chair etcWe hope to hear from you soon It appears genuine however most of the questions asked are already on the advert
Cassis
Sounds like a nice low-maintenance group. Did you direct them to the website and have they booked? Bon courage! We have a page called 'Directions' or 'Accès' depending on the language and anyone with a map of France can see where Alençon is. Yet we still have people asking if we are near the sea, near Nantes, how far from Caen, New York, Timbuktu etc. etc. A French person rang a while ago and we had a detailed conversation about the property, rates, amenities, things to see etc. They finally asked if Alençon was near Montpellier. ChezShells
HiIf its from your own site then its probably down to the fact you have your email listed on the site, scammers just search site that have an email attached to the page and send automatically.Best to have an email page on the site rather than an email link.Lee
Cassis
No, it's from a portal site who later that day said my trial period was up and did I want to pay to stay online with them. As this was the only enquiry received from that portal during the 3 month free trial, what do you think was my response? [Www]They got an appropriate response, as they requested.
