alnmike
hi! What does the forum think is a reasonable return oninvestment - ie cost of advertisement - to entice them to renew? For example having done my stats for the year, only got 1 new bookingfrom FC, but in total I got 28 days rental from them. Which was nice.I had a selection of advertisers this year, but most of their enquiries were for August, and I was already booked.Your thoughts please!!Thanks
Lizzie15
Hi. I advertised with 4 companies last year but 2 haven't performed at all during this time so I have ditched them both- the year befor they both provided several bookings. My website is getting far more hits than it used to and bookings haven't dropped in any way. I now only pay out about £150 on advertising and this seems enough to bring in the business. The 4 week booking is probably worth staying with them, especially if it links to your web site? Just my random thoughts[8-)]

What time of year did this 28day booking cover?Any marketing costing above .1% of income generated; is money burnt. This is a hard fact which you should address. The Riff-Raff Element
Sooooo....if you'd got a 30,000 euro income from letting, this wouldequate to 30 euro total maximum spend on advertising. I'd love to knowwho is giving quality space for that kind of money....Methinks you jest. Our advertising spend came out at around 3.5% of total revenue, thoughit will be fractionally less this year because we discarded some stuff.Alnmike - If I understand correctly, although you took 28 days from FC,most of this was from previous customers: would thay have found youanyway? We work on the following basis:1) The six weeks summer holidays will let irrespective of where we advertise, though they still need publicity;2) Outside of the summer six weeks, an advert must generate at least ten times it's cost to be considered worthwhile.I don't think any serious business can ever be completely happy withtheir advertising year on year: there should always be a couple ofchanges. So if one advertiser (even a long standing one) no longer cutsthe mustard then they have to be considered for the chop.

The Riff-Raff Element
Ah - but Apero wrote 0.1% or 1 per mille. Maybe he did make a typo.Mind you, even 300€wouldn't buy much.
