samrubinsthomas
Hi,We are a couple in their late thirties who are looking to move to the South of France next year with a hope of running a gite or gites for the season or longer. We dont know where to start - can anybody help?We have both been running a successful building and interior design company and just want to step out of the rat race for a while. I can speak french at conversationalist level and my husband is learning it now. We have a son and two dogs who would also be joining us and we are felexible about living on site.If anybody can guide us please let us know! Many thanks Sam
Steve c.
Hi SamJust seen your post and had to reply, when you say you would like to run someones gites for them, would you be registering as a business paying contributions and taxes, when people ask out on forums for such work, to earn a bit of spare cash it must seems a harmless request, but there are company's like myself and others trying to earn an honest living in France paying our way, and find it very difficult to compete with people that have no over heads, and before entering into any such "cash jobs" in France it may pay to look at what can happen if caught working on the black in France as the stakes are much higher the in the UK, deportation is listed among others
Aline
Dear Sam, Would you be interested in keyholding and cleaning a holiday rentals apartment in Nice? We are looking somebody for ours and believe there is potential in the area to create a business base amongst other owners. Best wishes,Alison
Tony
Sam If you are looking to run Gites then this can be done as a "Micro Enterprise" (depending on turnover) and keeps things perfectly legal and tax to a minimum. Talk to an Accountant about this.
