Flashsister
Many thanks to those who have already responded. We anticipate moving to Brittany in January, and a gite is part of the property. Does anyone know if a 'Taxe de séjour forfaitaire' is current there?
Clair
The taxe de séjour is implemented at commune (i.e. town or village) level. Our commune decided to start charging from 2010, but this only applies to our commune. See here for a previous discussion. To find out if there is one where (and there most probably is, as Brittany is very popular with tourists), either ask at the mairie or do a web search for a local hotel website and check their tariff. Flashsister
Very many thanks. I've also checked out the 'Lay my Hay site' which has a number of good ideas.
