brit
Does anyone know of a site (written in english)that I can verify asiret number to see exactly what the company is registered for?
Agenais
With Siret and Sirene being French I can't think of any reason for an English site. This one is a good one to check an enterprise. If you want all the details held on file you have to payhttp://www.verif.fr/index.php
Will
There are a couple of other sites listed in the FAQs section, you can also see an article - in English - at http://www/vienormande.com/afactp/tradesmen.htm. One of the sites listed, Les Echos, did at one stage offer an English version, but I'm not sure that this is still available. It was of doubtful use, not all of the terms used to describe French trades have a direct translation in English so you did end up with some rather odd-looking trades if you wanted to see what somebody was registered to do. The free checks give basic information, as Agenais says, you have to pay to get complete details (and you will also need to get somebody familiar with French building etc terms to translate). zeb
Don't know of any sites in English. The site we use is below but we have never found a site which lists everything we are registered to do, so you have to be a bit careful. Ask to see your tradesperson's registration papers if you are unsure. They will usually be happy to show them.http://www.cofacerating.fr/portail/recherche_entreprise_inter/recherche_entreprise.asp?IP=ECHOS
Val_2
Try www.infobilan.fr. You can get an explaination in english although the actual trade may be written in french.
