Guest CFrost
Several times I have read messages warning about the cost of filling a swimming pool with town water as opposed to well water with up to 10 a cu metre being quoted for town water! This has always surprised me. On my water bill (Dept 24 /Belves/Sogedo) there are basically two costs. One is the fixed contract price for supplying water and other the cost of the water and all the hangers on. Only the latter costs are dependant on consumption and they vary in 50 cu m tranches. The average cost attributed to my consumption of 90 cu m of water was 1.41 per cu m. However because filling the pool took me up into a higher tranche, the actual cost of the pool water was 0.96 cu m, some 38 for 40cu m. I have both town and well water supplies but rarely use the well water because of the low cost town water. As I say I am amazed when people talk about several hundred euros to fill their pool -am I just lucky or possibly are their fixed supply charges being included as well?
