Baz
LAST EDITED ON 23-Jul-04 AT 12:40 PM (BST)Changing the sand is fairly easy depending on the type of filter but make sure you put it back together correctly. Take care not to overfill as the excess sand can end up at the bottom of the pool. I would advise purchasing the sand from a Pool Company as they should have the special type of sand used for filters. This generally is a no. 20 silica with grains of 40-55 millimeters which have sharp edges that lend more efficient separation of the particles from the water. The sand should last for 2-3 years before changing.Baz
