Graham & Brenda
Our pool man has recommended cleaning our cartridge, which is a bit clogged up and has slowed down the filtration, (not a sand filter pool) with a soaking in a 50/50 solution of acide chlorhydrique. Basically this is to remove any limescale buildup in the pores of the filter. Casto sell this at €5.50 for 5 lt. However, during his rapid fire French he also mentioned eau de javel. Is this the same or similar product and does it also have a detartrent effect?Any advice on best method will be welcome. I now have 2 cartridges - one to wash and one to use! Thanks,Graham
Mpprh
HiDon't know about cartridge cleaning properties , but .............Javel is bleach, and therefore an alkali. My wife swears by spirit vinegar (an acid) for cleaning scale from kettles, bathrooms, etc.Peter
