Richardk
What are the guidelines for how long you should run your filter for each day? We're currently running our sfor around 12/13 hours a day and are based near Narbonne in Aude (11) on the med coast. We have a 10 * 5 chlorine pool with a sand filter. Thanks,Richard
Stevehudson
Approximately half the water temperature in centigrade is a good rule of thumb. ie 24 degrees = 12 hours per daySteve
Poolguy
If you wish to follow the guidelines by the Department of Health in france then there is a direct answer to your question. That is you are required to pass the entire contents of your pool through the filter twice per day.So if your pool is 10x 5 say 1.4 meters deep thats 70 m3. Your filter and pump should be able to handle this every 3 hours. So that would be 6 hours then is a minimum. If you are finding it difficult to get your water clear, then you might consider using Zeolite instead of sand as it can filter down to 1 micron as opposed to sand which is effectively only about 30-40 micron. This will give you clean and 'polished' looking water.I also presume that the question was not about water sanitization which is a different subject.Andrew
