seb47
We already have a (non conforming) fence around our pool, so have decided an alarm is our best way of complying with the law. However, we were given conflicting advice yesterday by our two local suppliers. Our pool is 25 metres from the house. The first advice was that we would definitely need the type with a sirene deporte (speaker at the house) i.e. 990 euros. The second was that the cheaper 690 euros version with a 100db alarm, would comply at that distance. What to do? Sue.
Poolguy
Hi SueThe answer will be different depending upon the Brand. For example the Aquaalarm has a range of 20 meters, so that would not really serve your needs. If you find one with a longer range (100Db is a lot) remember the neighbours will be getting an ear full as well as you every time it goes off. In many cases we have visited houses to quote on covers or fences for people who have bought alarms only to find out that there is a serious diplomatic incident created with the neighbours everytime it goes off day and or night. Remember too that you cannot put your winter cover on with an alarm in the pool.Hence, should you wish to use an alarm then you need a sirene deprte to make sure it is heard in the house.Andrew
