Milky Aqua Blue Water.........?

Recommended Posts

Hi

Please can anyone advise me on what to do next?

The pool was very green after winter so I gave it a big dose of the anti algue, and the usual chlori shock treatment. The water has gone from dark green to a very nice milky aqua blue colour but now it is not improving further. After  a week of filtering, vacuuming etc... The chlorine levels are showing as nil unless I leave the reading for half an hour and then it only reads as 0.5 ,

This is after adding what seems like a ton of chlorine  throughout the course of the last week or so. The ph is on the lowest level at 6.8

Please help I am sick of this pool already and it is only April.........!

thankyou

Yes Problem....... could be anything.

First get the pH in the right place... 7.2-7.3 no more or less and keep it there.

Throw away your antialgae because its not helping but greating a whole raft of other problems.

If you let me know where you are i could call in and give you some

better advise after testing the water as I suspect you are loaded with

caynuric acid and there is a high level of TDS.

Certainly you will have to change some of your water but how much

depends on the saturations. If its been some year since you changed

your water then it a safe bet that this is the next thing to do. SO

don;t waist too much more money on put stuff into the pool. which will

not solve but make the problem worse.

PM me if you want me to assist you as I am on the road tomorrow for 2 weeks and covering most of France.

  • 3 weeks later...

A chlorine test may show no chlorine, if the amount added is exsessive. This will cause the DPD1 tablet to bleach out.

Only put about 1 cm of water in the tube, add the DPD1 tablet and look for a pink colour change, if and as you fill the tube with more pool water, the test goes clear, you know it is bleaching out.

You may need to use a floculent to clear the water.

Take a look at www.bioguard.co.uk there is some usefull advice on there.
