Construction work placement in France needed

Hi I am looking for a work placement / Internship in France as part of my college course in July 2010 for 8 months duration. I am currently studying Construction in Dublin and I am trying to get work experience with a building contractor.

I am a mature student 24 years old and was previosly a plumber. I have always wanted to work in France to learn the language and experience the lifestyle and culture. My level of french is basic but improving slowly. I am taking French classes in my local adult education centre.

If anyone has advice or info on the best places to look for work it would be greatly appreciated.
