3 gites rule and public swimming pool rules......

...or when is 3 gites three gites?  If a complex was an owners house and 2 gites (but the owner is only there for holidays) does that mean the more stringent rules apply?  What if the owners house was let out sometimes? (ie all three houses let simultaneously.)  If two gites are let and the owners are there, can they use the pool?  would the less stringent rules apply if only ever two of the three gites were let at any one time.

Any clarification would be greatfully received!

Hi Pool girl

(we must be related somehow....?)

As far as I am aware, that if you are charging monies for the use of the Pool

(along with the accommodation) then you are classified as a 'public' pool and

therefore are automatically embroiled under the purview of the DDASS and behoven

to they inspections for water cleanliness.

I do know that this varies from Department to Department depending on how many

inspectors they have. For in some places, people with only one Gite and who are

not registered as a business will more than likely escape such attentions.

However, I am fairly sure that if you are a registered business, then your file

will be made known to the DDASS and therefore you should not be surprised to

meet an inspector who is hell bent on filling his little beaker from your pool.

If, when you receive the result sometime later, you learn that you have failed

the test for one reason or another, then it can be quite catastrophic for they

have the power to close the pool entirely and/or demand that it be pumped

immediately.

So for the sake of assurance of the continuing use of your facilities it is as

well to get well versed in their requirements and make sure that your equipment

and pool management regime are compatible with their spec.

PM me if you need specific help

Andrew
