Sharkster
I backwashed my filter today and a small amout of Zeolite came out in the backwash. Is this normal? Also the pressure gauge did not drop as much as I expected (about half way from when I originally installed the filter). When I installed the filter some weeks ago, I actually backwashed without the pump on, but now realize you are supposed to run the pump, could this have affected the pressure original pressure? Thanks,Sharkster
Poolguy
It depends on how much is appearing in the pool Andrew
Sharkster
None is going into the pool, just when I backwashed the zeolite came out of the waste pipe. I think I may have over backwashed, so the pressure was too high and just blasted some of the zeolite out with the waste water. I have since read, it is normal on the first couple of backwashes to have sand/zeolite in your waste water.
Poolguy
A bit yes But if it keeps happening then you have dislodged the top rose in the filter.Andrew
