osie
I have been pondering this for a while... If I put a chloc Lent in the water the time it takes to dissolve seems to depend on the temperature of the water. The reason I say this is because I use about 3 of them every 7 days in summer, whereas in winter I put a few in the water and they seem to stay around til next spring.Any ideas.. Is this true?thanksosie
osie
I would like to ask the question again... maybe in a different way... I guess the question is too obvious or has not been correctly understood. Is the rate of absorption of a chlorine tablet greatly affected by temperature and/or concentration of chlorine in the water..The reason for asking is because I think you only need a few tablets in the winter to keep chlorine levels up whereas you need to add them weekly in the summer.Thanksosie
Maricopa
Yes, rate of chlorine consumption does depend on water temperature.[:D]
Théière
Also there is not just chlorine in those tablets. They also contain cyanuric acid which disolves slowly in summer so in winter ...........They may also contain borax and posibly copper sulphate (those little blue flecks you see in some gallets)
osie
The copper sulphate will be the reason why every body has a nice blue pool
