chirpy
I have surrounding the pool porous concrete tiles called MANOSQUE ex Sovidal, and after 10 years they have dark stains due to normal pollution etc. What has anyone found as a good cleaner.A high pressure water jet has removed ,but still a bit messy. Jonzjob
I use a pressure washer on mine and it comes up OK. I use an adjustable nozzle and not the so called 'turbo lance' because the turbo bit takes some pressure away. All it seems to do is make a buzzing noise. OK if you like buzzing noises and lower pressure I suppose?
Théière
A good cleaner/stain remover would be Eau de Javel from a Brico, cheap and very effective. it will rot your trousers though!
JohnRoss
Just done our slabs around the pool using Eau de Javel 9.6% from a garden hand pumped sprayer and it did a good job getting rid of all the black and grey mold stains that had built up over winter, almost instant. Had tried a high pressure sprayer in the past which sort of worked but not as well as the Javel. If you do it every year is there any chance that the slab colour would be affected one wonders?...........................JR
halfblind
Late question. Did you use the eau de javel neat or dilute ?
JohnRoss
Bricomarché seem to do two types. 2.6% for domestic use and 9.6% if you want something stronger. There are instructions on the 9.6% bidon on how to dilute it down to 2.6% for use in the house. I sprayed neat 9.6% from a garden sprayer onto the slabs and they came up a treat. I have also used this on external crepi to remove mould stains and it worked ok. What I don't know is if you used it often would the colour be affected.......JRPS be careful where you spray it as it seems to kill off the grass on the lawn quite well. I found that really stubborn stains needed a second dose.
Jonzjob
I was told a while back by a couple of French friends that using javel on crepi was a no no because it will effect it and eventually destroy it. That's the reason I have only ever used it once..
Pommier
We haven't got a pool, but we do have a patio which was looking very grubby after the winter. We used a Karcher pressure washer with a patio head - a round attachment, which cleaned it perfectly and in a very short time.
JohnRoss
I used Javel on the crepi only the once too as like you I had heard that it might damage it as would a power washer I reckon. I did hose it off after a few hours and noticed some little bits of crepi coming off even where the Javel had not been sprayed. As for the terrace round the pool I guess a power washer might be ok but what effect would it have on the surface long term? We did try an anti-moss chemical for roofs from Brico but it was not that effective. All be the same in 100 years!.......JR
Théière
There is a big difference between grubby and stained, pressure washers do a good job but organic staining from leaves etc often needs a bit of help.Any idea whats in crepi apart from lumps [:D]
