A cautionary tale

Before I start, I like the health system in France.

We had a friends mother round a couple of days ago and what a tale she had to tell of her treatment in the cardiac unit of the local major hospital last autumn. Rude nurses, dirty ward, and being mis- prescribed, in fact overdosed on her medicine causing a hemorrage. It was she who had to kick up a fuss to get her prescription dose changed, the nurses completely against it and reluctant to check, in spite of this lady refusing to take any further medicine until it was double checked. This lady's daughter in law works in the same hospital and had her moved to her ward, where it was wonderful.

My son's have both spent time in this hospital, it has been fine and we have had no problems at all.....the only negative thing has been the usual 6 hour wait in A&E.

These things can happen anywhere, even in France.
