Corinne
The hubby got a quote to cover me for health Insurance (forgot to ask the company) . 200 Euro a month and thats only 30% of the full cost as the German Army pays the other 70%.Is this reasonable???? letrangere
Corinne, you don't give your age or current state of health but assuming you're under 45 and in good health that's outrageously expensive. Bupa Gold for me (mid 40s) is GBP 1,000 per annum for full 100% coverage. The Exeter for hubby (with GBP 100 deductible) at 52 years is GBP 70/month. This includes repatriation to Britain and worldwide coverage except US. I'd look around again if I were you.Margaret
Owen
Hello, You have not given very much info. Premiums, in the first instance, depend on age and level of cover offered. But if the cover is only for you then by any standards this premium is very high. There are so many providers that it is well worth shopping around. Because of this German Army contribution your healthcare arrangements seem a little unusual. Are you actually affiliated to the French health system and have a social security number? If so then a full private insurance such as BUPA is probably not appropriate. I do not know your age but for a 40 - 44 year old a top up insurance costing around 450 Euros per year is a reasonable marker.
