Franglais24
Hi,We have a friend coming over for an unspecified period of time soon. Does anyone know of a "travel" insurance policy that will supplement an E111 for an indefinite stay, or at least 2 months?Thanks,F24
Hereford
Try Europ Assistance. We used them for several years before coming to France to live. You can get an annual policy or one for a specified time.Marcus
Owen
Hello, I used to be in the UK travel insurance business but no longer so my knowledge is a bit rusty. But I can forsee why you are having problems. An insurer will want to know the length of the journey. If the assured is over 65 cover over 31 days can be difficult. Another problem is that it would seem that the length of stay is not decided. In the event of a claim the claims handler will want to have proof of return to the UK eg return air ticket. If this is not available then the claim is likely to be refused. Would an insurance valid for initally 3 months be any use? It is renewable (without returning to the UK at the end of the initial period). If so I will dig up one or two contacts from my past for details. I will need to know the names and ages of the assured and their postal or e mail address. I have included my e mail address for you to contact me direct as personal details should not be displayed in open forum.RegardsPeter Owenpjowen@rivieramail.com
