So this morning I went to the doctor. No appointment necessary but I waited an hour+. I then saw the doctor and he decided that I needed to see a specialist - 14 October first appointment.

Where was this, LOT, what did it remind me of, the old system in the UK, waits included - for the same problem.

I must admit though that the doctor took loads of time with me and not just 10 mins and also decided that my blood pressure level (which would have meant drugs in the UK) was OK considering the prescription only painkillers I take. I am trying not to take BP tabs as they do have side effects. Oh, and the letter he wrote to the specialist is totally undecipherable - just like a British GP's, except he left the letter open for me to read - unlike a British GP.

All in all I felt quite at home, which I am, in France
