vivienne
I am moving to France next July. To the Aude region. I have a 28 year old son, he has an enduring mental health problem. At the moment he lives in England in what is called a supported tenancy ie. he lives in an housing association flat and has support workers who take him out 2 or 3 times a week to do his shopping, go to a cafe, help him with his admin etc. He is in receipt of Disability Living allowance (middle rate) and income support. Does anyone know what the equivalent might be in France? Does one have a choice of accommodation, how much benefits is he likely to receive, given that he has never worked and it unlikely to ever be able to work. I know that he would have to pass in front of COTOREP in order for them to decide what is best but we need to know what his options might be before he gives up everything here. Would be so grateful for any suggestions. Vivienne
