CeeJay
I am now in receipt of the new card, but still not sure how it applies in practice. With the old E111 I took a few copies, just in case, and when appropriate sent one off to CAPM, whilst still in France with details of my French bank account, together with the prescription or whatever. After a few weeks my bank account was credited with the refund. But what does one do now, do you have to send the card in with the prescription and hope it gets returned correctly, or do you show it at the Chemist or to the Doctor and a discount is made?If anyone has tried this new system I would be grateful to learn of their experience. KathyC
I don't think that anyone can have direct information on the usage of the EHIC card yet as it doesn't come into effect until January 1st. Information on how it should work is available on www.dh.gov.uk.
