TroisChatNoir
Does anyone know where I get one of these for my four and a half monthold please? I keep being sent to different places and am gettingnowhere fast! My local mairie advised the mairie in La Chatre whoadvised the mairie in Chateauroux ... it seems to be getting furtherand further away. The doctor here has happily given her the necessaryvaccinations etc but in England I was taking her for regular weightchecks etc and I don't know if there is an equivalent to our healthvisitors? I have a Carte Vitale - no problem - why is this so difficult?
Beryl
Did they give you one of the baby record books when you were in the UK? If so, hand that over next time you have your baby looked at and I'm pretty sure they will sort you out with the French version quickly.
opas
I use the Red book here for our youngest(aged nearly 9 ) without any problems , the doctor is always happy to fill it out if she has a jab or general medical, ie weight, eyes etc. Our eldest doesn`t have a red book, they didn`t exist when she was born (now 13 years old) , when she had to have some jabs updated her, the Doctor gave me a carnet in which her immunisations are listed. Me0wp00
my baby was born in France but i've got a friend who just uses her book that the uk gave her and the doctor completes that. There aren't health visitors as such but theres a PMI who usually are in the phone book, they are free to go and see and My little one has his check ups there and any questions I have I ask the doc, its not for emergency care though, for that it's the gp
Wendy
We got ours for our youngest when he was born here two years back, they gave it to me in the hospital. Otherwise you could request one at the family clinic, they simply copied the info from our 4 yr old's red book into the french version.
