cherokee Posted September 25, 2006 Share Posted September 25, 2006 Hello,My husband has received forms from Chamber of Commerce and has an appointment with an accountant to set up his own business.We need to register for healthcare as part of the process.Can we continue to use our private health cover or would we need to cancel this?We do not have an E form so how to we become registered?Shall we wait until we become registered or must we do it immediately?Hope someone can help!Thanks. It's headed E111 (which no longer exists) but you say you don't have an E form and are using private insurance. I didn't think that you could have private health insurance in France unless you are from outside the EU.Are you over retirement age or have you paid contributions in the UK recently? Miki Posted September 25, 2006 Share Posted September 25, 2006 Once you are registered at one of the chambres, you will be sent pubicity from a whole range of assurers etc wanting to take money off you !The health people you will need to be with, will depend on what yourhusbandswork is associated with, same for your retirement funds. Differenttrades will often have different assurers to be with. You will alsoperhaps require a mutuelle to top up your health cover for theremaining 30% not covered with your obligatory health cover. Thiscan be taken with the same people as your obligatory or another one ofyour choosing.E forms will then have no further part in your health cover once you are registered.
