loubie
We are finding it impossible to find the definitive answer to this - can anyone help? We are on a very low income - we only get Uk state pension but have been told that we may get full reimbursement of our medical costs living in France. does anyone know if this is true? chris pp
Under about €7000 per year (not sure of the exact sum) you will get your medical expenses including complimentary (top up) paid , that's quite a low income, equivalent to around £4800 per year.Chris
Owen
Hello chris pp,You are incorrrect with your figures. If the annual income (after allowances) for a couple is below 10768 Euros then basic healthcare is free and you can apply for a free "top up" insurance. This threshold will be reviewed next month. Obtaining a free top up is not however automatic as other criteria can be applied in assessing entitlement, for example home ownership.RegardsOwenpjiowen@expathealthdirect.co.uk
